And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2

In today’s society it is easy, as a Christian, to be seduced by the world. We are constantly bombarded with advertisements and media images that tell us in order to be happy we have to buy certain products and look a certain way. We are told that Christianity is an antiquated religion, with principles and values that no longer apply to our modern, sophisticated culture. We are taught that morality is relative, not absolute. Little by little, piece-by-piece, we have begun to swallow their lies. We have so bought into the world’s false philosophy that it is often hard to discern the difference between the behavior and actions of the world and the church. New studies reveal, for instance, that the divorce rate within the church is just as high as the divorce rate outside of the church.

This is not the brand of Christianity found in the Bible. Scriptures reveal a radical departure for Christ’s followers from the world in which we live. Not that we are to completely isolate ourselves and live in a bubble, but our actions and lives are called to be governed by a far different set of values and standards than those of the world.

It is not the goal of this site to avoid controversy or even to make you, the reader, go away feeling happy or even better about yourself. It seems that within the church nobody wants to discuss divisive or controversial theological points anymore. As the church, we have lost our collective backbone. Preachers, teachers, and speakers of all kinds rehash the same benign subjects ad nausea while we ignore the meatier and deeper portions of Scripture. But Scripture exhorts us to look deeply into God’s Word; to long for more than just milk, as infants would and to desire solid food (Rom. 3:2). It is impossible to teach true Biblical doctrines without being controversial.

Ephesians 6 compares the Bible to a sword. What does a sword do? It cuts. It divides. It separates true doctrine from false. It separates the sheep from the wolves. And praise God that it does! For every word revealed through Scriptures teaches us more about our Creator and Savior, allowing us to have a deep, personal and intimate relationship with Him.

The goal of this site is to arm Christians with a faith that is based on Scriptural authority and sound reasoning by providing discerning, Scripturally-based responses to the world’s false ideologies and timely topical studies. If we are to guard ourselves from and counter the world’s ferocious assaults on our values and beliefs, it can only be with a comprehensive and intelligent faith. Hopefully, this site will help Christians respond to our culture’s queries with eloquence and intelligence.

So, please, peruse these articles at your leisure and continue to live out a Christian lifestyle that is both Biblically faithful and enlightened.
