April 7, 2010, Matthew Cochrane, The Holy Spirit Hokey Pokey
Question of the day: If your worship pastor led your church in the "Holy Spirit Hokey Pokey" how fast would you hit the exit? Would you knock down the usher on your way out or just get out of there as quickly as possible? Be warned, that which is seen cannot be unseen. That which is heard cannot be unheard.
Exit quesion: What's worse? This or Benny Hinn's antics?

I really thought that was going to be an easy question to answer but after watching both clips I would have to say both of these ministries are heading for major problems . . .
If these are representative of where the church is heading then we are probably in much deeper trouble than I already thought. May Heaven help us!

Don't be surprised if I borrow this for a Friday droll. If I don't get anything better sent in by then, this is totally getting reposted.

I sorta understand the pokey, but I've always wondered what the "slain in the spirit" activities offer.

Changes in the church as always slow, subtle, and seemingly harmless. However, they are deliberate and they have a destination. I see things in my conservative Baptist church that I NEVER thought I would see. The first change (and often the most painful) is music in worship. Then other programs change. All of the change is to make the church more "seeker-sensitive". When people start leaving, the people advocating change say "let them go". Before long, there is no experienced wise lay leadership left and ministers can do what they want without accountability.
Pray that the church re-discovers God's word and quits worrying about trying to please the crowd.
